Dunapack Packaging Straßwalchen and Dunapack Packaging Vienna won the Green Packaging Award in the creative sector.

The Green Packaging Star Award has been recognizing sustainable packaging solutions for almost twenty years. It is about much more than just recyclability - intelligent packaging not only protects the product, but also the environment.

Environmentally friendly cremation coffin made of cellulose.

This year, we made the packaging for a coffin for cremation primarily from corrugated cardboard. What sounds so obvious today actually took years of development work and countless applications to the authorities. The design was commissioned by and based on an idea from DIKI GmbH and realized in close cooperation with the Mosburger Straßwalchen and Vienna plants.
 

Carrefour's Act for Good programme aims to combat wasting of food. Dunapack Packaging Romania and Carrefour România have cooperated to offer fruits and vegetables to consumers in Express Box to reduce waste, eliminate plastic and make sustainable shopping convenient and affordable.

We are delighted to share that our Hungarian Construction & Design colleagues won several awards this year at the National Association For Packaging and Material Handling (CSAOSZ) Hungaropack 2024 Packaging Competition.

Congratulations on this outstanding achievement and the high-quality innovations!

Our colleague, Márk Dajka, received the Special Award from the National Association of Employers and Industrialists!  The awarded development is a packaging solution for an engine block cover, showcasing the joint expertise of Dunapack Packaging Hungary and Dunapack Packaging Mosonudvar. The aim was to provide an effective and sustainable protection for a heavy and irregularly shaped automotive component, achieved through an innovative two-part design:  

• A folded insert that securely holds the product while enhancing its handling.  
• A user-friendly wrapping box that provides maximum protection.  

During the development material efficiency, sustainability, and ease of use was prioritized. The packaging is made entirely from 100% recycled materials.

Dunapack Packaging Mosburger is the proud recipient of the World Star Award 2024 from the World Packaging Organization for its packaging solution developed for its customer KOMO.

KOMO has been manufacturing first class quality grain mills from environmentally friendly materials since 1986 and was in pursuit of a packaging solution corresponding to their sustainability concept: fully recyclable - mono material, best protection without plastic, easy handling when packing the goods thanks to simple plug-in system and the possibility to insert the mill and protective pad into the outer box as a single unit.

Dunapack Packaging's approach to creating sustainable and ecological solutions met the expectations of KOMO and we managed to implement this project together, combining our environmentally friendly packaging solution with the ease of use and safety of this packaging for the product as well as end users.

The joint effort was accompanied by a lot of fun and positive energy in this project and we all enjoyed the challenge.

Step by step to sustainable packaging solutions.

Plastic used to be indispensable in the packaging industry - whether as tear tape or edge protection. Today, we, as Dunapack Packaging Vienna, show that there is another way:  

We use an innovative paper solution that allows the entire packaging to be made from a single raw material - from the box to the edge protectors and tear tape.  What are the benefits?

• Easy recycling in the paper recycling container
• No material separation for the end consumer
• Another step towards a more sustainable future

With innovations like these, we design packaging that is not only practical but also environmentally friendly. Together, we make packaging a little better every day.

Dunapack Packaging Denizli Plant was awarded the Bronze Award in the Crescents and Stars Packaging Competition with the cable box designed for electrical cable spools.

Spools, which can normally be used after being taken out of the box, become practically ready for use with this design without having to be removed from the box. The upper and lower openings in the design allow the spool to be held and carried by hand ergonomically easily and the opening side is designed to easily remove and use the cable end from that part. 

Wagran & Dunapack Packaging Poland have developed together eco-friendly packaging solutions with minimalist raw material usage, addressing key requirements for product handling and allowing transportation of a larger number of products per pallet.

Hoagard is a brand that takes its inspiration from nature by designing, producing and promoting its own products.

In 2014, HOAGARD started to transform its love for nature into decorative panels of its own design. HOAGARD carries out its design processes with the belief that the inspiration that nature gives to artists and designers should spread to all areas of life.

Our colleagues at Dunapack Packaging Turkey in our Denizli Plant Hatice Gökkaya, Construction & Design Supervisor and ISMAiL SIVIS, Sales Supervisor have been working with HOAGARD in a project aimed at upcycling packaging into cat and bird houses.
Upcycling is the art of breathing new life into packaging at the end of its lifecycle, providing a new purpose.
